Businessman and controversial figure Wicknell Chivayo made a surprising appearance at the trial of prominent Zimbabwean businessman Mike Chimombe and former government official Moses Mpofu. The two defendants are currently on trial, facing accusations related to misappropriation of public funds.
Chivayo’s presence added intrigue to the case, given that he was recently awarded a multi-million-dollar contract by the government.

The case has drawn considerable public attention, especially after Mpofu and Chimombe testified during a prior court session that a significant portion of funds awarded to Chivayo, under a $40 million contract to supply election materials, allegedly ended up with unnamed government officials.
