Zimbabwe and Kenya Gear Up for High-Stakes AFCON Qualifier

2026 World Cup Qualifiers Match Day: Zimbabwe vs South Africa - Warriors Confident in Victory

The Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) has confirmed that the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Limpopo Province, South Africa, will host the Warriors’ upcoming 2025 AFCON qualifier against Kenya’s Harambee Stars.

The match is set for Friday, November 15, 2024, kicking off at 6 PM. Zimbabwe is competing in Group J of the AFCON qualifiers, alongside Cameroon, Namibia, and Kenya.

In their previous encounter during the qualifiers in September, the two teams played to a 0-0 draw at the Mandela National Stadium in Kampala, Uganda.

Currently, Zimbabwe is positioned second in Group J, having accumulated eight points from four matches, just two points behind leaders Cameroon. Meanwhile, Kenya sits in third place with four points from four games and remains in contention for a spot in the 2025 AFCON tournament.

Both Zimbabwe and Kenya have had to play their AFCON qualifiers away from home due to strict stadium accreditation requirements set by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
