AFM Pastor loses Money to Robbers

Three robbers stole $300 in cash and several valuables, including cellphones, from Pastor Lebraity Makuni, 28, of Apostolic Faith Mission in Zimbabwe, Praise and Worship Center Assembly.

Around midnight, Pastor Makuni was sound sleeping in his bedroom when the three burglars used an iron bar to smash down the kitchen door.

They gave him rough treatment and shoved cotton wool into his mouth.

The robbers then used a computer cord to bind his hands and attacked him all over his body with an unidentified item while demanding money. Before they left, they raided the house, taking $300 that was hidden under the mattress and a Tecno phone.

Afterwards, the pastor went to a neighbor for help, and that person untied him and took the cotton wool out of his mouth.

Pastor Makuni was taken to the hospital immediately despite not having any visible injuries. He complained of pain in his lower right limb, right shoulder, right thigh, and left side of his ribcage.

According to Inspector Luckmore Chakanza, a spokesman for the Harare provincial police, Pastor Makuni lost a total of $7500.

Police are looking into a robbery case in which a clergyman was beaten and his possessions and cash were taken.

According to Inspector Chakanza, “he was rushed to Chitungwiza Hospital for treatment.”
