He said plans were underway to see if it is possible to produce the event to international standards through live streaming.

“There has been a very wrong perception among various artistes with regard to this event yet they are the biggest beneficiaries so we are on a campaign to ensure that we reach a wider audience as well as musicians for their own development,” Bangure said.

“We have taken initiative to invite potential partners, among them sponsors, producers and media, venue managers, promoters and other stakeholders so that they can first see how they can help improve the program. The show itself is very interesting in showcasing diverse genres.”

He said they would improve the stage and lighting to ensure the standards are conducive for shooting live for an international audience.

Bangure said already some of the artistes that have performed at the Jam Session have international exposure and they would help in uplifting the standards of local performances by imparting the knowledge they had acquired during their tours.

“We are also looking at engaging the Zimbabwe Championships for Performance Arts that recently did the nation proud in Hollywood when they bagged several medals in their maiden appearance. They definitely have seen how it is done and they are best positioned imparting knowledge to fellow artistes,” Bangure said.

Monday will see artistes like Jeys Marabini, Sandra Ndebele making their maiden appearances at the event.
