A shopper at Chibwe Business Centre in Stoneridge Park, Harare, intervened in a robbery on Sunday, managing to capture one of the suspects.
The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) reported that the suspects, identified as Tawanda Chimuti (21) and an accomplice named only as Munyuki, attacked a shop attendant and stole cash during the incident.
Thanks to the timely intervention of the shopper, Chimuti was detained at the scene and handed over to the police. According to authorities, Chimuti and Munyuki attacked the shop on November 17, 2024, taking USD 600 in cash.

While Chimuti was arrested, his accomplice managed to flee.
In a separate case, police in Harare apprehended Vincent Tsoka (32) and Cuthbert Tazvitya (33) on November 17, 2024, in connection with the illegal possession of a firearm. Tsoka was found in a parked Toyota Corolla on Patrenda Way in Budiriro 2, with US$1,692 in cash and a firearm. Tsoka later implicated Tazvitya, leading to his arrest at a nearby residence.
