Will Pak Bean Conquer the HICC?

The local comedy scene has been blossoming lately, with an audience that is growing by the minute which has led many promoters to bring in international comics every now and then.
Tonight the HICC is the best place to be for comedy lovers as the titanic venue plays host to Mr Pak Bean, a Pakistani Rowan Atkinson look-alike who is in the country courtesy of Splash Paints.
The comic is set to share the stage with top local comedians including Simba The Comic King, Clive Chigubhu and Long John.
While some of the international acts who have visited the country are already known among the local audience, Pak Bean came to light recently after the announcement of his trip to Zimbabwe.
The comic has managed to attract attention among locals during his brief stay in the country but the question that still remains is that of being able to conquer the mighty HICC.
There are numerous highly rated acts who have flopped at this venue and only time will tell if the fake Mr Bean will pull through.
Curiosity is on the comic’s side as many people would like to see what the whole fuss is about which can be the reason why more than 2 000 advance tickets have already been sold.
Splash Paints General Manger Friendson Agrippah said he was confident the show would be a success.
“I believe this show is going to be successful considering that we have already sold more than 2 000 advance tickets,” said Agrippah.
“I have seen this guy these past few days and I think he has what it takes so people should come prepared to have a good laugh.”
Tickets for the show are being sold for US$5, US$15, US$20 and US$50 for the various seating areas.
