Goodhope Church Hit by Robbers, Loses US$50K in Bold Heist

Police in Marlborough are currently investigating a major robbery that took place on the night of October 31, 2024, at a church Goodhope, Harare, around 11 p.m.

According to reports, five masked men armed with a pistol entered the church, overpowering two security guards on duty. The suspects then ransacked the premises in a highly organized manner, ultimately stealing a substantial sum of $54,200 in cash that had been stored in a safe.

In a separate incident under investigation in Epworth, another robbery occurred on November 1, 2024, also around 11 p.m., at a home in Glenwood, Epworth, Harare. Two unidentified women approached the victim’s home under the guise of buying water but instead launched a sudden assault.

After subduing the victim, the pair went on to search the house and stole $7,000 in cash along with various groceries, heightening concerns over safety in the community.

Authorities are calling on anyone with information regarding these incidents to report it to the nearest police station, stressing the importance of community involvement in ensuring safety and security.
