In order to manage a donor-funded initiative that aims to advance political and civil rights in Zimbabwe, Trócaire is recruiting a full-time Project Manager.
Ensuring project success through good coordination, grant administration, and compliance with donor regulations is the role’s responsibility.
It entails overseeing a consortium of thirteen civil society organisations (CSOs). In this role, you will oversee a group of five experts based out of Harare, Zimbabwe, and report directly to the Country Director.

Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the project team to ensure the successful implementation of human rights initiatives.
- Support the capacity building of the team and partners to manage individual grants.
- Facilitate effective coordination among consortium partners and other stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with donor regulations and timely reporting on project progress.
- Collaborate with the Finance and Admin. Manager to support financial management and audits.
- Organize and manage governance meetings, grant reviews, and consortium workshops.
- Monitor and evaluate project progress and outcomes, identifying areas for improvement.
- Build relationships with relevant organizations and networks to enhance advocacy and learning.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
- At least 7 years of experience in project management, donor compliance, and grant management, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
- In-depth understanding of civil society and human rights in Zimbabwe, as well as experience working with government institutions.
- Proven ability to manage institutional donor grants, particularly from FCDO, SIDA, or Irish Aid.
- Strong leadership and communication skills with experience in managing diverse teams and partnerships.
- Knowledge of monitoring and evaluation frameworks, financial management, and compliance procedures.
Education:
- A relevant third-level qualification (preferably a Master’s degree) in Law, Human Rights, Development Studies, or a related field.
