Serial band hopping manager Pliers Puraene has left Utakataka Express.

Pliers rejoined the band a few months ago after leaving Sulumani Chimbetu’s Orchestra Dendera Kings.

Before that, Pliers had been in and out of the band enjoying a love hate relationship with the late Tongai Moyo.

Puraene claims there has been a lot of sabotage in the band in terms of show organisation.

He said working with two other managers made life difficult for him.

Chanter Shiga Shiga and Suko Dube are also managers in the band and apparently the friction was too much for Puraene.

“I left almost two months ago. It was difficult working with two other managers because there was a lot of sabotage especially in show organisation,” Puraene told Showbiz.

He said he was now working with former Dhewa admirer First Farai and another former Utakataka Express band member Willard Willo Loti.

“For now I am working with First Farai and Willo. We will see how that goes,” he said.
