Reports, though unconfirmed, suggest that the students were on their way back from an event marking Africa Youth Day and the Youth Empowerment Forum, held at the Magamba Training Centre in Mutasa South.
The event was attended by President Emmerson Mnangagwa, who is said to have led the crowd in chanting ZANU PF slogans before delivering his speech, with some students reportedly participating in the chants.
