ZIMSEC Requires CALA Marks for June 2024 Exam Registration

ZIMSEC Extends Registration Deadline for November 2025 Exams

The Zimbabwe School Examinations Council (ZIMSEC) has informed potential candidates for the June 2024 examinations that they must have Continuous Assessment Learning Activities (CALA) marks to be eligible to sit for the exams.

In an announcement, ZIMSEC emphasized that for the June 2024 session, candidates without CALA marks will not be permitted to register for the examinations.

Additionally, ZIMSEC clarified that this upcoming session is the final opportunity for individuals who intend to retake exams using their 2021 CALA marks.

CALA, introduced in the latter part of 2021 in anticipation of the 2021 ZIMSEC examinations, is a system for assessing learners’ physical and behavioral skills continuously (via coursework), which contributes 30% to their final marks.

The remaining 70% of the final grade is determined by summative assessments, evaluating knowledge skills during examinations.

In anotherstory, ZIMSEC has officially announced the commencement of registration for the June and November examinations, urging parents and guardians to visit their nearest registration centers.

According to the statement released by ZIMSEC, candidates have the option to pay their examination fees in their preferred currency. The prevailing interbank exchange rate will be confirmed by ZIMSEC for payments made in ZWL.
