Dynamos head coach Lloyd “Mablanyo” Chigowe emphasized that his team is not focused on disrupting FC Platinum’s Premier Soccer League (PSL) title hopes ahead of their match at Rufaro Stadium on Sunday.
FC Platinum currently has 54 points, trailing log leaders Simba Bhora by six points as the season nears its conclusion with four matches remaining.
Simba Bhora is set to play CAPS United on Saturday. Should they lose and FC Platinum win, the lead at the top would shrink to just three points.
Dynamos, who have been out of the title race for some time, are currently positioned ninth in the standings with 41 points, 19 behind the leaders as they approach their final five games.
Chigowe stated, “We are not here to spoil anyone’s party; we also want to celebrate our own successes. We approach this as Dynamos, a club that needs to make its presence felt.
“These matches are opportunities to showcase our abilities. We’re not feeling any pressure; we recognize that FC Platinum is eager for a win. When a team is desperate, they can sometimes make errors. However, playing without pressure can provide us an advantage.”
In their earlier encounter, FC Platinum claimed a 1-0 victory over Dynamos at Mandava, courtesy of a goal from Wilfred Muvirimi in the 61st minute.

Looking forward, if Simba Bhora defeats CAPS United and FC Platinum loses to Dynamos, the gap between the two teams would widen to nine points with only three matches left. This outcome would greatly enhance Simba Bhora’s chances of securing their first PSL title, as they would need to lose all remaining matches for FC Platinum to have a shot, while FC Platinum would have to win all their games.
Currently, FC Platinum maintains a narrow edge over Simba Bhora in goal difference, leading by two goals.
