Liquideep Anchors Unplugged Zimbabwe December Return

Unplugged Zimbabwe is set to make a highly anticipated return this December, with legendary South African house duo Liquideep taking centre stage at the revival of the country’s premier family-friendly music and lifestyle festival. After a brief hiatus, the much-loved blanket-style event roars back on Saturday, December 21, at the First Capital Bank Sports Club in Mt Pleasant, promising an atmosphere steeped in nostalgia, rhythm and timeless house music.

Fresh from their reunion in September 2025 after an 11-year break, Liquideep’s inclusion on the lineup has generated excitement among house music lovers across generations. Renowned for defining an era of soulful Afro-house, the duo is expected to deliver a signature “sunset vibe” performance, anchored by classic hits such as Fairytale and Alone. Their return to Harare marks a major highlight for Unplugged’s comeback, reinforcing the festival’s reputation for curating memorable, cross-border musical experiences.

Sharing the stage with Liquideep is Zimbabwean chart-topper SaintFloew, whose contemporary sound adds a modern counterbalance to the duo’s seasoned catalogue. The lineup further reflects Unplugged’s blend of old and new, featuring guitar virtuoso Sylent Nqo, crowd favourite Delroy Shewe, and emerging acts Melyssa, Saiiren and Sane Wav, all contributing to a diverse and dynamic musical journey.

Organisers say this December edition builds on the success of the last Unplugged outing, which drew a packed crowd and reaffirmed the festival’s place on Harare’s lifestyle calendar. The previous show was praised for its seamless sound production, relaxed picnic-style setting and inclusive family zones. Guests enjoyed standout live band collaborations, surprise appearances and a vibrant sunset session that carried the audience into the evening.

True to its family-first ethos, Unplugged Zimbabwe will once again feature a fully supervised Kids Zone, allowing parents to enjoy performances while children engage in safe, interactive activities. New this year is the Live Experience Arcade, a gaming and technology hub designed to run alongside the live music, adding a fresh layer of entertainment to the festival experience.

“Liquideep’s return represents the heart of what Unplugged is about timeless music, shared memories and bringing people together,” said festival representative Danis Dube. “Their sound defines moments, and pairing that with local talent creates a truly special atmosphere.”

With gates opening at 12:00hrs and tickets available exclusively via Hypenation, Unplugged Zimbabwe’s December comeback promises an unforgettable fusion of classic house nostalgia, contemporary flair and relaxed outdoor leisure  led by the iconic sounds of Liquideep.
