A video has captured widespread attention after a 14-year-old girl was filmed accusing her biological mother of abuse, which led her to elope with her 31-year-old boyfriend.
The incident, which quickly went viral on social media, has sparked concern.
In the viral video, the girl, who eloped with her boyfriend, cries out to the people filming her while her mother attempts to drag her home.
“Mwana iyeyu akatizira kune murume musi wa 18 November ndobva ndasearcher kuti ndiwone kuti murume wacho ndeupi ndobva nda saver number,” said the mother while dragging the teen to go home with her.
In defense, the young girl claims that she was being abused by her mother, which led her to run away from home and stay with her alleged boyfriend.
“Vaindishungurudza amai ava ngavasanyepe, vaisandida kumba kwavo. Hembe dzandakapfeka hapana kana one yavakatenga, mari yefees vaisambobhadhara,” said the young girl.
“I lied to my boyfriend that I am not 14 years old,” the girl boldly said, tears falling on her cheeks.
“I got beaten up at home even for the slightest mistake, like breaking a cup. At times, I got beaten to the extent of almost being killed,” said the girl.

“My aunt is the one who pays for my school fees; my parents don’t pay anything,” said the girl.
“Murume wavo anoramba kuti handisi mwana wavo,” claimed the girl. In response, her mother said that the man the girl claims to be her mother’s husband is actually her biological father.
Onlookers, who were present when this drama was unfolding, encouraged the mother of the young girl to take her home no matter what. “Musamusiye chero zvikadi endai naye kumba,” said another woman who was at the scene when the drama was unfolding.
