Today, Joan Laporta, the president of Barcelona, personally informed coach Xavi Hernandez that he had been fired. Soon, Hansi Flick will take over as head coach of Barça.
One of the most important players in the history of the team, Xavi, had declared his intention to quit in January. The team begged him to stay, but they did not move to appoint a new coach.

After the team’s worst week of the season in April, Xavi ultimately decided to stay on as head coach. Even yet, the club fired him for what seems to be a questionable cause.
Xavi Hernandez had a number of reasons to think about leaving, but the club handled his exit in an absurd way. The club held talks with Hansi Flick without formally informing Xavi during the recent rumors surrounding his possible departure.
With Xavi leaving and Flick taking over soon, the uncertainty is now over.
