Carl Joshua Ncube launches magazine

Stand-up comedian Carl Joshua Ncube has taken his career to another level with the launch of his online magazine called the African Comedy Circuit https://issuu.com/africancomedycircuit/docs/covermagazinemockup.
Ncube told Showbiz the magazine was launched to market “the amazing comedy and comedians around Africa to a global audience”.
“As a touring comedian I interact with so many African comedians and most have been my friends colleagues and even mentors, I realised among themselves the comics did not know much about each other’s industries and so I felt a product like this would certainly bring comics together, foster greater collaborations and generate great productions on the continent and the rest of the world,” said Ncube.
“Quite often great work happens in the comedy sector and is only recognised in the given country, the rest of Africa does not know about it and in turn neither does the rest of the world.”
He said the magazine is available online via a downloadable reader and he hinted that this will give birth to many support products like a gig guide as well as comedy events.
“The magazine pays tribute to the Goliath and Goliath firebrand of comedian entrepreneurs as well as the brand new animation featured at the Comedy Central Africa’s International Comedy Festival which recently added a cast rich and full of great African Comedy Stars like Salvado from Uganda who is the first feature in this issue of the African Comedy Circuit,” he said.
“Once we have reached a desired online reach we will proceed market by market to making sure other products will benefit from having such a magazine in place.”
Ncube said the magazine would provide great media and publicity for the comedy sector in the continent and hopefully see an increase in movement around the continent or the world of African comedians.
