Government has announced that Covid-19 results will be delivered in two hours for both arriving and departing travellers at all airports.
This follows the opening of the country airspace after almost six months as part of measures to curb the spread of the Coronavirus.
Speaking on Tuesday during a Post Cabinet briefing Minister of Information Monica Mutsvangwa told the media that commissioned laboratories would carry out the tasks.
“With regard to laboratory facilities Cabinet noted that Lancent Laboratories commissioned its laboratory at Victoria Falls International Airport and pledges to deliver the Polymerise Chain Reaction (PCR) within two hours for both arriving and departing travellers, ” Mutsvangwa said.
“The Robert Gabriel Mugabe and Joshua Mqabuko Nkomo International Airports have similar private and public testing facilities.
The Task Force will be dispatching teams to the country’s land and air ports of entry to assess their readiness in handling the large numbers associated with the complete opening up of the country to domestic and international flights, ” she said.
