Harare Man Batsirai Makwengura Wanted for Theft of Thermoplastics Valued at US$442,000

Police in Harare are on the lookout for a 30-year-old man, Nelson Batsirai Makwengura, who is accused of stealing 330 tonnes of Polypropylene (PP) thermoplastics valued at US$442,000.

Two accomplices, Lesley Nyasha Makaka (30) and Mercy Muza (44), have already been arrested in connection with the case, while Makwengura remains at large. Polypropylene is widely used for various applications, including plastic packaging, machinery parts, and textiles.

The public is urged to provide any relevant information to assist in the apprehension of the suspect. Reports can be made to the National Complaints Desk or the nearest police station.

National police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi said they were still looking for him.

“Police in Harare are appealing for information which may lead to the arrest of one Nelson Batsirai Makwengura aged 30, who is wanted in connection with a case of theft which occurred during the period between May 2023 and October 2023.
