The Madrid Derby between Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid highlights Matchday 8 of the 2024-25 La Liga season.
The two capital city giants will clash at the Metropolitano Stadium on Sunday night, vying for local bragging rights and a crucial three points in their quest for the league title.
Atletico manager Diego Simeone is confident in his team’s ability to overcome Real Madrid, citing last season’s two home wins against Los Blancos in La Liga and the Copa del Rey. “Those wins showed that at home, we can overcome even a team with the strength and character of Real Madrid,” Simeone noted.

The round kicks off on Friday with Real Valladolid hosting Mallorca, followed by Barcelona’s visit to Osasuna’s El Sadar Stadium on Saturday.
Osasuna manager Vicente Moreno believes his side can break Barcelona’s six-match winning streak against them, provided they execute their training plans flawlessly.
“Everyone has to be at their best,” Moreno emphasized. “Defensively, we must challenge them, make few mistakes, and have some luck. Offensively, we need to create chances to win the game.”
