Zanu PF supporters in Zvimba North Constituency have come out guns blazing following the alleged primary elections rigging by Deputy Minister of Local Government Marian Chombo.
Marian Chombo is also the former wife of Ignatius Chombo, a Senior Government Minister during the Mugabe regime.
Videos that went viral on social media, supporters are seen expressing their anger at Marian Chombo whose vehicles were seen taking ballot boxes at Great Gain Ward 13 Muswiti District. Supporters are disputing the fact that the Deputy Minister’s aides took ballots after 40 Minutes of Voting. After 2 hours it was announced that she had garnered 816 votes.
“Where are you taking the ballot boxes?”, supporters questioned in a viral video.
In another video a youth is seen saying. ,“Enough is enough. This time around Ma Cdes, we want a head-on with this woman?”
Instantly the ward failed to vote following the missing nine cell sheets that went missing.
Supporters are also heard in another video contemplating to launch a direct confrontation against Chombo.
This publication went to Muswiti District and established that Marian dispersed all 17 Zanu Pf Chairpersons from the constituency and bribed headsmen into the elections campaign mafia crew.
A letter seen by this publication addressed to Zanu Pf HQ Elections Directorate, Jongwe House with a reference : “COMPLAINTS AGAINST ACTS OF RIGGING IN THE JUST ENDED ZANU PF PRIMARY ELECTIONS” logged a complain on how Marion Chombo rigged the elections.
“May I draw your attention, at Great Gain Primary polling station ward 13 Mutswiti District in Zvimba North Constituency people did not vote following complaints by electorates over missing nine(9) cell sheets submitted on time but were mysteriously missing. Within a short period of time, Cde Marian Chombo’s aide arrived with a car that had a foreign number plate. No counting took place at the polling station”
“The sitting MP rigged the election. We have been informed by individuals from the electoral body, FAZ, that she went and met the polling officials and paid them so that everything they declare would be in her favour”
“We have so many questions than answers why the electoral body of the party trusted the aides of a sitting Mp (Marian Chombo) to distribute the ballot boxes with marked ballot papers to the command centres. This is not normal in a free and fair election. We believe all the results of the Mp and some local authority are not a true reflection of the will of the people. ”
The Constituency has not yet received any feedback and action from the ZANU PF Elections Command Centre.
Electorates also allege that Marion Chombo also rigged the primary eections in 2018 using the same political gimmicks.
