Zimbabwe’s representatives in the CAF inter-club tournaments, Ngezi Platinum Stars and Dynamos, have discovered their opponents for the 2024/25 season following a preliminary round draw held on Thursday.
The country will be represented by Castle Lager Premier Soccer League champions Ngezi Platinum Stars in the Champions League and Chibuku Super Cup winners Dynamos in the Confederation Cup.
Ngezi Platinum, the reigning champions of Zimbabwe, are set to clash with AS Maniema of the Democratic Republic of Congo in the preliminary round of the 2024/25 CAF Champions League. The winner of this encounter will advance to face Atlético Petróleos de Luanda, also known as Petro Atlético, in the subsequent round.

Dynamos will face the Zambian side Zesco United in the preliminary stage of the CAF Confederation Cup. The winner of the tie will face the winner between Orapa United of Botswana and Foresters of Seychelles.
The first legs of the first preliminary round are scheduled for the weekend of August 16-18, with the return legs to follow a week later.
In the second preliminary round, the first legs will take place on September 13-15, and the return legs are set for September 20-22.
In another story, Zimbabwe’s representatives in the CAF inter-club tournaments have been designated as non-ranked teams ahead of Thursday’s preliminary round draw.

Both teams have been absent from these competitions for the past five years, rendering them ineligible for the CAF Five-Year Ranking.
In the Champions League draw, Ngezi Platinum Stars find themselves in Pot 2 alongside other non-ranked teams from South and Central Africa.
