Just a few days after being crowned Mister Glamour Zimbabwe, Royce Gavi (19) who is based in Bulawayo called it quits. In this country’s pageantry history it is the first time that a reigning king dramatically exits his throne.
Following the sudden change of mind by Royce, Mister and Miss Glamour Zimbabwe (MMGZ) executive president Robert Chipazaure of Parkstreet Entertainment Pvt Ltd Company had to issue a statement.“Royce Gavi was crowned Mister Glamour Zimbabwe 2021 on 21 December 2021, however, he was not chosen to represent Zimbabwe in Spain for the Miss and Mister Model Meditteraneo Global Competition because as a company and pageant organizing in Zimbabwe we do not send under 21 years of age models for international pageants.”
“Royce had verbally agreed to this and later signed the contract with the other winners on 22nd December 2021 agreeing to the terms and conditions of the company constitution that governs them and the contestants which states that upon the breach of the contract, the reign will be terminated by the company with a one-week notice or immediate effectively depending on the case at hand,” said Chipazaure.
“Royce Gavi’s reign has been officially terminated with immediate effect since he resigned twice without valid reasons. As stated in the constitution and before the coronation, failing to fulfill his duties the first runner up Emmanuel Marira will now take over as Mister Glamour Zimbabwe. Takudzwa Hove who will represent the country at the Mister Model Meditteraneo Global Competition in Spain is the First Runner up and Tatenda Ngandu the Second Runner up of Mister Glamour Zimbabwe 2021 with immediate effect.”
Royce could not be reached for comment on his mobile phone.
