The Carling Black Label DJ Clash Tophy Goes to Mutare
Mutare 20 year old Irvin Maponga, who’s popularly known as DJ Irvinex, beat his 23 contenders to the grand prize.
“I am happy to have won this contest, I will use my prize money to set up a studio and the DJ equipment for my career,” said Irvinex, “I am grateful to Carling Black Label for this opportunity.”
The dj competition was not a walk in the park for the winner. It was a very tough competition.
Even the audience found it hard to predict who the winner might be.
Carling Black Label event organizers meant business by carefully selecting professional judges who were well schooled and seasoned when it came to these competitions.
Deck spinners DJ Naida, King Her, DJ Tamuka, and Babongile Skhonjwa were among the panel of judges.
Their comments and observations after a performance clearly stated their professionalism.
The icing on the cake after the announcement of the winner was an electric act by the Amapiano master Toss followed by Tyler ICU.
The crowd left the venue at almost a break of dawn after a night of partying and fun.
The event was held at the ZITF in Bulawayo, where the whole setup matched international standards.
Even the sound system and the auditorium were well designed for the accassion
The Carling Black DJ Clash national championship is one of the contests that gives attention to DJs who are usually not recognized, just like dancers who are overshadowed by musicians.
This makes them the DJ saviors, hence the large number of entries.
