Three females were expelled from Hippo Valley High School after it was discovered that a Zanu PF councilor there was having an intimate relationship with one of them, setting up a furor.
According to reports, the councillor (whose identity has been changed for legal reasons) would secretly take the group to his lodge where he would have sex with a Form 5 student who was allegedly his girlfriend.
The three admitted frequenting the lodge in June and July of this year in reports to school administrators that were in the hands of NewZimbabwe.com.
The councilor allegedly purchased food for them from nearby food courts and would lock himself in a room with the alleged lover while her companions were in another room.
On June 30, 2022, chaos ensued as one of the lodge’s staff members yelled and pushed her way into the room after discovering her supervisor kissing the student while nude.
The two allegedly had intercourse there when the group returned on July 1, according to sources, although the councilman neglected to make the customary food purchase, which the girls were supposed to find inconvenient.
Once they began informing others about their misadventures, school officials became aware of the situation and questioned the students until they confessed.
When the matter came to light, the councillor reportedly promised his lover US$200 if she did not implicate him.
But the girl admitted in her report that she had been escorted to a fast food restaurant and a lodge where she would have sex with the counselor on days when she was competing in athletic events.
A box of pizza and two boxes of Chicken Inn were purchased for us. We returned to the lodge, where (the other two girls) locked themselves in one room while I was with (the councillor) in another, according to the student’s account.
We had just kissed when an uninvited maid entered as he was about to remove his clothing. Seeing that (the councillor) had already taken off his pants, she yelled “maihwe-ee!” and bolted away.
When prompted for response, the councillor hung up the phone. Attempts to get the councillor to elaborate on the situation were unsuccessful because it was claimed that he had left his cellphone with an unnamed individual, who stated: “He has left his phone, he went to Triangle.”
Luckson Gondo, the head of Hippo Valley High School, declined to comment, citing education ministry procedure that forbade him from speaking to the media.
“You must contact the District Schools Inspector since I am not authorized to speak to the media” (DSI). She is the only one who can respond,” Gondo remarked.
Petronella Nyangwe, the DSI for Chiredzi, did not return calls when contacted for comment.
