This scholarship offers a unique opportunity for participants to connect with the World Heritage site Decorated Farmhouses of Hälsingland while fostering collaboration with other World Heritage sites globally.
Initiated by the region of Gävleborg, Sweden, in 2018, the international World Heritage Residence Scholarship at the ‘Decorated Farmhouses of Hälsingland’ aims to support UNESCO’s World Heritage Convention goals of creating connections between people and fostering international cooperation with peace as a central concept. The scholarship aligns with these principles by generating interest and understanding in humanity’s shared heritage through World Heritage sites. Gävleborg actively seeks innovative ideas to establish artistic and creative connections between the Decorated Farmhouses of Hälsingland and other World Heritage sites, incorporating elements of culture, music, art, and more.

- The World Heritage Residence Scholarship comprises two components: a one-month residency at one of Hälsingland’s seven World Heritage farms and a financial award of approximately 4,500 Euros (50,000 SKR) to cover living and project-related expenses.
