Zim-TTECH Seeks Logistics Assistant to Support Health Programs

Zim-TTECH, a registered Private Voluntary Organisation (PVO 125/23), is dedicated to health system strengthening and various technical areas within the healthcare sector. As part of its commitment to excellence, Zim-TTECH is inviting highly qualified and experienced individuals to apply for the position of Logistics Assistant.

Position Summary:

The Logistics Assistant will report to the Fleet and Logistics Officer, playing a crucial role in coordinating logistical activities to ensure the smooth operation and success of Zim-TTECH’s programs.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate fleet utilization to match transportation needs with available resources.
  • Facilitate vehicle maintenance, servicing, and repairs in collaboration with district and provincial teams.
  • Maintain effective communication with fleet repair suppliers to minimize turnaround time.
  • Manage vehicle insurance, registration, and licensing processes in compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources to provide skills training for drivers.
  • Monitor fuel levels and initiate reordering to maintain uninterrupted availability.
  • Oversee inventory management, including acquisition, storage, and distribution of program supplies.
  • Analyze vehicle tracking system reports and accident/incident reports to recommend corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate records of organizational vehicles and other automotive information.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Degree in Logistics/Fleet Management or equivalent.
  • Class 2 driver’s license and a diploma in vehicle mechanics.
  • Chartered Institute of Logistics Certification/Accreditation.
  • Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management is an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in logistics or fleet management.
  • Additional training in motor vehicle mechanics, customer care, and fleet management may be necessary.
  • Knowledge of geographic maps for efficient route planning.
  • Ability to multitask and work under pressure.
  • Proficiency in vehicle diagnosis and servicing.
