Authorities in the UK are actively searching for 15-year-old Colin Chabikwa, a Zimbabwean national, who is believed to be connected to the fatal stabbing of 14-year-old Kelyan Bokassa aboard a London bus on January 7th.
The investigation has revealed that Chabikwa, who had been missing since September 2024, was previously reported as a missing person by Kent Police before the tragic incident.
Chabikwa disappeared from Gillingham in Kent on September 23, 2024, and had been linked to areas in southeast London, specifically Woolwich, where the stabbing occurred.
Police now believe Chabikwa played a role in the fatal attack on Bokassa, which took place on a 472 bus in Woolwich Church Street at approximately 2:30 PM.
Despite immediate medical attention from paramedics and the London Air Ambulance, Kelyan tragically succumbed to his injuries shortly after the attack.

Detective Chief Inspector Sarah Lee, who is leading the investigation, expressed her condolences to the grieving family, saying, “My thoughts are with Kelyan’s family and the community, who are deeply affected by this loss. We appreciate the support we’ve received from those in Woolwich.”
Authorities are working tirelessly to track down Chabikwa and his alleged accomplice, 16-year-old Mosawar Zazi, and have urged the public to come forward with any information.

Investigators suggest that Kelyan’s death could be linked to gang tensions, as he had been involved in a feud prior to the stabbing.
The situation escalated after an Instagram post Kelyan shared just hours before the attack, in which he asked followers if anyone had a “mindy” — a slang term for a knife.
This post may have been a direct reference to the tragic events that followed.
Kelyan’s mother, Marie Bokassa, reflected on her son’s life, describing him as a compassionate young man with a passion for football, drawing, and cooking.
However, she also revealed that Kelyan had struggled with gang associations since childhood, a problem she desperately tried to shield him from. “I feel hurt because I tried to stop it, but despite my efforts, this tragedy happened,” she said.
Kelyan’s death marks the second fatal stabbing in Woolwich in just three months. The area has seen a disturbing rise in youth violence, prompting local authorities to step up patrols and enhance security measures in an effort to curb further incidents.
In light of the ongoing search, the Metropolitan Police have issued a warning to the public, advising them not to approach Chabikwa or Zazi if they are spotted. Instead, they urge people to immediately contact law enforcement.
“We need to speak with Chabikwa and Zazi urgently,” said the police spokesperson. “If you see them, please do not approach them, but get in touch with the police right away.”
As the search for the teenage suspects continues, the police are committed to ensuring justice for Kelyan and bringing those responsible for his death to account.
