Through the National Committee on the Elimination of Drugs and Substance misuse, the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has reaffirmed its commitment to fighting drug and substance misuse by continuing to identify and expose drug suppliers and barons around the nation.
The public is asked to contact the National Complaints Desk by phone at (0242) 703631 or by WhatsApp at 0712 800 197 with information about drug barons and suppliers.
ZRP spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi revealed the identities of 27 drug dealers and barons who were found guilty by the courts on Tuesday, May 7, 2024. Among these people are:
- Tinotenda Muronzi (24) from Maridale Norton, convicted of possessing unregistered medicines and fined US$100.00.
- Prudence Chinhoyi (29) from Glenview, Harare, convicted of possessing dagga and sentenced to 14 months imprisonment.
- George Zacharia (44) from Tynwald South, Harare, convicted of possessing unregistered medicines and sentenced to pay US$100 or serve 3 months in prison.

- Hubert Murindagomo (42) for possessing crystal meth and sentenced to nine months imprisonment.
- Victor Kurai Ngorima from Belvedere, Harare, convicted of possessing unregistered medicines and sentenced to 12 months imprisonment.
- Leeroy Bruice Tungana (28) from Hatfield, Harare, convicted of possessing crystal meth and sentenced to 12 months imprisonment.
- Tafadzwa Sankulami (28) from Willdale Old Camp, Harare, convicted of possessing crystal meth and sentenced to 280 hours of community service.
- Sarah Gomwe (36) from Rujeko, Chinhoyi, convicted of possessing 725 grams of dagga and sentenced to 255 hours of community service.
- Tinashe Gangwa (28) from Glenorah A, Harare, convicted of possessing crystal meth and sentenced to 10 months imprisonment.
- Thomas Moyo (41) from Thorngroove, Bulawayo, convicted of possessing dagga and sentenced to 175 hours of community service.
- Lwisani Dube (19) from New Luveve, Bulawayo, convicted of possessing dagga and sentenced to 105 hours of community service.
- Tarisai Dhliwayo (28) from Dulibadzimu, Beitbridge, convicted of unlawful dealing in dangerous drugs and sentenced to 19 months imprisonment.
- Dean Michael from Famona, Bulawayo, convicted of possessing dagga and fined US$300.00.
- Thamsanqa Moyo (23) from Lobengula West, Bulawayo, convicted of possessing 470 grams of dagga and 96 X 100mls Benylin cough Syrup, sentenced to 24 months imprisonment.
- Caroline Muingayi (40) from New Lobengula, convicted of possessing 738 grams of dagga and sentenced to 12 months imprisonment.
- Zororai Mapindure (40) from Runyararo West, Masvingo, convicted of possessing 8 kilograms of dagga and fined US$400.00.
- Netsai Nganhira (50) from Glenview, Harare, convicted of possessing dagga and fined US$200.00.
- Takesure Christ (28) convicted of possessing crystal meth and sentenced to 17 months imprisonment.
- Stancilous Mushanga (29) from Glenview 1, Harare, convicted of possessing unregistered medicines and fined US$100.00.
- Melani Gutsire (37) from Warren Park 1, Harare, convicted of possessing unregistered medicines and fined US$150.00.
- Nyasha Mpofu (24) from Gail Court, Harare, convicted of possessing crystal meth and sentenced to 10 months imprisonment.
- Nyasha Nyabunze (23) from Churu Mine, Chiweshe, convicted of possessing 0.56 grams of crystal meth and fined US$200.00.
- Tatenda Vito (29) from Glenorah A, Harare, convicted of possessing dagga and sentenced to 420 hours of community service.
- Tawanda Sibindi (18) from Mbare, Harare, convicted of possessing crystal meth and sentenced to 12 months imprisonment.
- Newton Berejena (70) from Adbernie, Harare, convicted of possessing unregistered medicine and fined US$150.00.
- Christopher Marambakurwa (42) from Kambuzuma, Harare, convicted of possessing crystal meth and sentenced to 30 months imprisonment.This move by the ZRP signifies a strong stance against drug-related offenses and emphasizes the consequences for those involved in drug trafficking and possession.
