Mushanawani’s Visionary Leadership Drives NetOne’s Digital Health Milestone in Bulilima

NetOne Group Chief Executive Officer, Engineer Raphael Mushanawani, has been widely commended for his innovative leadership following the launch of a Telemedicine Booth in Bulilima — a modern digital health facility designed to bring quality healthcare closer to rural communities.

The project, introduced under NetOne’s OneHealth initiative, marks a major step in using technology to advance public health and supports Zimbabwe’s drive toward Vision 2030 and universal access to healthcare.

During the official ceremony, Mr. Ernest Magadzire, NetOne’s Public Relations Manager, delivered a speech on behalf of the CEO, emphasizing the company’s determination to use digital solutions to improve people’s lives.

“This Telemedicine Booth shows how NetOne is using its strong network to close the healthcare gap between cities and rural areas. With OneHealth, a mother here in Bulilima can now consult a medical specialist in Harare or Bulawayo without having to travel long distances,” read part of Engineer Mushanawani’s message.

His remarks received applause from community members, health experts, and government officials who described the initiative as a model of how public-private partnerships can transform healthcare delivery in rural Zimbabwe.

Deputy Minister of ICT, Postal and Courier Services, Honourable Dingumuzi Phuthi, who officiated at the event, applauded Engineer Mushanawani for steering NetOne beyond its traditional telecommunications role.

“Under Engineer Mushanawani’s leadership, NetOne is proving that technology is not only for communication but also for healing and saving lives. The Bulilima Telemedicine Booth is proof that innovation can deliver real benefits to our people,” he said.

The health facility is fitted with modern diagnostic tools, including digital thermometers, glucose meters, and video consultation systems, all connected to doctors in major cities for real-time assistance.

Dr. Jokwiro, the founder of ZimSmart Village, which partnered with NetOne on the project, expressed appreciation for Mushanawani’s commitment to collaboration.

“Engineer Mushanawani’s vision has made it possible for rural patients to access quality care without barriers. Working with his team has been inspiring,” he said.

Community leader Alderman Land Ndebele also praised NetOne’s leadership, calling the booth “a priceless investment in the health and dignity of Bulilima residents.”

Under Mushanawani’s direction, NetOne continues to expand its footprint into key development areas such as healthcare, education, and agriculture, demonstrating the company’s broader mission of empowering communities through technology.

The Bulilima Telemedicine Booth stands as a living example of innovation-led leadership, reaffirming Engineer Mushanawani’s role in driving NetOne’s evolution from a telecoms operator into a national development partner dedicated to improving lives across Zimbabwe.
