Archbishop Ezekiel Handinawangu Guti’s 100 years were marked by powerfully transformative philanthropic work which continues to shine brightly as Zimbabwe Assemblies of God Africa (ZAOGA) Forward in Faith Ministries International (FIFMI) celebrates his contributions across Zimbabwe in honor of Guti’s death anniversary of May 5, 2023 – with events across Zimbabwe taking place this May 5 commemorating this iconic figure and their groundbreaking life work.
This year’s commemorations will take an unconventional approach by being spread throughout different regions across Zimbabwe in order to allow more people to engage with and honor Guti’s legacy.
Harare will kick off with a walkathon through Grange that symbolises his followers’ unification and strength; then at Braeside ZAOGA branch, 50 artists will perform gospel music while spreading joyous celebration right in Zimbabwe’s capital city!
One of the highlights of Braeside will be a performance by The Worshippers, a highly esteemed foreign musical group lead by Zimbabwean gospel artist Misheck Mahendere from Limpopo Province in South Africa renowned for fusing Venda, Shona and other South African musical traditions into an electrifying blend.
Their rich sound and captivating stage presence should provide Zimbabweans an unforgettable experience at Braeside.
Misheck Mahendere, a well-known pastor and gospel artist Misheck is also known for being part of Zimbabwean gospel superstar Pastor Michael Mahendere’s The Worshippers group, which hails primarily from Venda-speaking communities but includes influences from across cultures when performing.
Each performance by The Worshippers creates an energetic celebration of faith through music that celebrates cultural differences while honouring tradition and history simultaneously.
