VLIR-UOS is offering ICP Connect Master’s scholarships to students from 30 eligible countries across Africa, Asia, and Latin America.
These scholarships provide an opportunity to pursue English-taught study programs at Flemish universities and institutions of applied sciences and arts in Belgium.

Professional Bachelor’s Programs (3 years)
- Bachelor of Hotel Management
- Bachelor of Applied Computer Science
Initial Master’s Programs (2 years)
- International Master of Science in Agro- and Environmental Nematology
- International Master of Science in Rural Development
- Master of Aquaculture (IMAQUA)
- Master of Epidemiology
- Master of Science in Food Technology
- Master of Science in Marine and Lacustrine Science and Management
- Master of Statistics and Data Science
- Master in Sustainable Development
- Master of Transportation Sciences – Road Safety
- Master of Water Resources Engineering (WRE)
- Master of Science in Nutrition and Food Systems
- Master of Science in Sustainable Land Management
- Master of Science in Tropical Biodiversity and Ecosystems (Mundus Tropicalis)
Scholarship Deadline
- Most applications close on February 1 or February 28, 2025, depending on the program.
- The deadline for the Master of Science in Tropical Biodiversity and Ecosystems is November 30, 2024.
Scholarship Benefits
The scholarships cover tuition fees, travel costs, insurance, and living expenses for the duration of the program (ranging from 12 to 36 months).

Eligibility Criteria
- Nationality: Applicants must be citizens and residents of one of the 30 eligible countries.
- Age:
- For bachelor’s and initial master’s programs, applicants must be under 35 years old as of January 1 of the intake year.
- For advanced master’s programs, the age limit is 45 years.
- Bachelor’s program candidates must also be at least 19 years old by January 1 of the intake year.
- Professional Background: Priority is given to those working in higher education, government, or civil society. Applicants from the private sector or recent graduates may also be considered if they demonstrate strong motivation and qualifications.
- Scholarship Applications: Applicants may only submit one ICP Connect scholarship application per year.
- Previous Scholarships: Candidates must not have previously received a Belgian government scholarship or been enrolled in a Belgian institution before January 1 of the intake year.
Application Process
To apply, candidates must:
- Apply for admission to their chosen program through the respective university’s website.
- Indicate their intention to apply for the scholarship during the application process.
