BRAVE BROTHERS EMERGE AS HEROES IN DARING RESCUE AFTER CROCODILE ATTACK
Two young brothers, aged 12 and nine, are being hailed as heroes after saving a woman from a vicious crocodile attack in Mhondoro-Ngezi.
The harrowing incident unfolded on Sunday while the woman was engaged in fishing with nets, only to fall victim to the sudden assault by the reptile.
The village community was left astonished as these courageous boys risked their lives to fend off the enormous crocodile and ultimately save the woman’s life.
“What surprised us is that such young boys managed to win a battle against the reptile, even older individuals might have failed. We thank these boys and their guardian spirits for saving this woman. It was like a divine intervention,” expressed a grateful villager.
Another villager added, “These kids are not just ordinary; they are born with extraordinary courage. How can they take on such a formidable reptile? They have something special within them. Others might have failed if it were not for them. This is not an achievement anyone can claim.”
During a video interview conducted shortly after the incident, the brothers modestly downplayed their heroic actions.
“She was in the water when the crocodile dragged her. It bit her on the leg, and she managed to grab its upper mouth. We then entered the water and pushed a log towards her, attempting to pull her to safety. However, the crocodile proved overpowering,” recounted the 12-year-old.
“My brother struck the crocodile’s mouth with a log, while I used a wire we found at the edge. He bravely stepped on its mouth and began hitting its eyes with a log, eventually forcing it to release her. We pulled her out of the water, shouting for help, as she sustained injuries on her leg and hands,” he continued.
