Chelsey Painter Davis, a blind content creator, has gained widespread attention on social media after disclosing that her blindness resulted from taking birth control pills.
Davis began using birth control at 18 due to her doctor’s recommendation but soon began experiencing severe headaches and blurred vision. Despite seeking medical help, her condition deteriorated, ultimately leading to complete vision loss.
She attributes her blindness to a rare side effect of birth control known as pseudotumor cerebri, which involves a build-up of cerebrospinal fluid that damaged her optic nerves.
