The number of fatalities from the tragic accident near the Lutumba tollgate along the Masvingo-Beitbridge Road has climbed to 26, following the passing of a female victim who had been receiving treatment at Parirenyatwa Hospital.
She succumbed to her injuries on February 19, 2025.
In an official statement, police confirmed the latest fatality and urged the public to assist in identifying two other victims who lost their lives in the accident one male and one female.
Authorities have requested anyone with relevant information to come forward.

The catastrophic crash occurred on February 14, 2025, when an Urban Connect bus collided head-on with a haulage truck in the early hours of the morning.
The initial death toll stood at 25, with several others sustaining serious injuries.
In response to the tragedy, Minister of Transport and Infrastructural Development, Honourable Felix Mhona, announced a six-month suspension of Urban Connect Holdings Pvt Ltd, barring the company from operating its fleet on all routes.
Investigations into the accident are ongoing as authorities work to establish the full circumstances surrounding the fatal collision.
