Gamuchirayi Nemukuyu and DJ Fantan have officially announced their separation, which was probably inevitable given their tumultuous marriage.
He claimed that Gamu’s involvement in a street brawl with a woman, Vimbai, whom she thinks is dating the artist, led to the breakup.
Since then, Gamu has hired Harare attorney Milton Serima, who will negotiate for their amicable split, care of their two young children, and property division.
The owner of Chillspot Records, actual name Arnold Kamudyariwa, referred to Nemukuyu as his ex-wife in a social media post, despite claims that he had urged her to drop her complaints of domestic abuse against him.
The muscular emcee continued by saying that he has never neglected his kids and has already donated money to a preschool where one of them attends.
This contradicts Gamu’s evidence, according to which the same child missed four months of school.
The attorneys for the couple are planning to meet soon.
Gamu stated, “I have hired a lawyer to get legal advice on child support and property sharing with DJ Fantan, and we are meeting tomorrow (today).”
“Relatives made fruitless attempts to convince Fantan to feed his kids.
“Ngaabudise all receipts for the five months of food that were purchased.
DJ Fantan calls me his ex-wife, but I still have his clothing in my closet, and he hasn’t given me a divorce token.
“He has advised his mother to go and stay at our Chitungwiza house, as a way of side-lining me, from what I sweated for.
We bought two home lots, two cars, and other important things all at once. He wants to make me give my kids over to his mother so he may enjoy himself with his lover.
“I need my share of the things we’ve gained together, and I won’t part ways with my children.”
His mother neglected Fantan’s 16-year-old daughter, whom he had a child with named Tsitsi.
Since Fantan tricked me into dropping domestic violence allegations in order to avoid going to jail, I stand to be advised by legal methods.
“To my relatives, who also convinced me to drop the charges, he pretended to be a wonderful person, but God is for us all.
Fantan knows that my mother was detained and is still incarcerated in South Africa, yet he never supported me in my efforts to secure her release. My tears will never stop flowing because he wants to see me and his kids go hungry so that his lover would be happy.
When it comes to queries or phone calls regarding Gamu-related issues, the well-known deejay has never been amenable to commenting.
Fantan’s mother was contacted for a remark but declined to speak.
But there are taped conversations between him and family members pleading with him to pay attention to his kids and obtain a birth certificate for one.
