The Diplomatic Spouses Association (DSA) has issued a statement expressing its sincere regret that celebrated Zimbabwean artist Dudu Manhenga will not be performing at the organisation’s upcoming annual Charity Bazaar, scheduled for October 25.
According to the DSA, an earlier version of the event’s promotional materials mistakenly listed Mrs. Manhenga among the participants. The association has since apologised for the error, emphasising that it was unintentional.
“We deeply apologise for this error and for any inconvenience it has caused her,” read part of the statement. “We understand and respect that she has a prior professional commitment on that day.”
The association also extended its appreciation for Manhenga’s contributions to the arts and expressed hope for future collaborations.
“The DSA holds Mrs. Manhenga in high esteem and we look forward to the possibility of working with her on future occasions,” the statement added.
Despite the correction, organisers say preparations for the Charity Bazaar are progressing well. The event promises to be a vibrant celebration of international culture, food, and art, featuring performances, global cuisines, and unique handmade items from around the world.
All proceeds from the event will go toward local charitable initiatives, in line with the DSA’s long-standing commitment to community empowerment and humanitarian support.
The DSA has invited the public to attend and take part in what it describes as “a wonderful day of culture, diversity, and giving back.”
