Chikanyire pleaded guilty to the charge in Chief Chipuriro’s court and was convicted for his actions, which the chief described as “destroying the life of a small girl with a beautiful future”.
According to allegations, Chikanyire, who is married, proposed love to the girl, impregnated her, and promised her a job at the mine, but failed to follow through on his promise.
The girl was subsequently chased away by her parents, and Chikanyire sought a room for her in a nearby village.
