Former Transnet executives Siyabonga Gama and Brian Molefe, along with two others, have voluntarily turned themselves in to authorities amid fraud and corruption allegations tied to a R93 million locomotive procurement deal.
They are scheduled to make their first court appearance today, June 30, 2025.
The charges are linked to a controversial 2015 tender involving the acquisition of 1,064 locomotives, a project initially valued at over R54 billion. The case includes accusations of violating the Public Finance Management Act, along with fraud, corruption, and money laundering.
