A woman named Cindy faced a terrifying ordeal in Harare’s CBD yesterday when a mob targeted her for what they deemed inappropriate clothing.
The victim Cindy, was shopping with her boyfriend when a man provoked her, leading to a group of men and women following her and hurling insults.
As the mob grew more aggressive, Cindy was rescued by a local businesswoman named Faith, who intervened and took her into her shop on First Street Mall. During the chaos, Cindy lost her handbag and cellphone.
Cindy expressed her gratitude to Faith, saying, “I want to thank this woman for standing firm against the crowd. She pushed them away and offered me shelter.

May God bless her.” She recounted how the crowd attempted to tear her clothes and that one woman even tried to grab her handbag, which contained her phone.
Cindy explained that she had left her boyfriend in another store, unaware that she was being attacked. “These people are attacking me, but they’ve never seen a woman dressed this way before,” she lamented, vowing to share her experience on social media.
With the help of four men, she was escorted to her boyfriend’s vehicle, using his jacket to cover herself as they made their escape.
