The construction of the Glaudina-Kuwadzana Extension Road junction is currently on hold.
This happened because the High Court issued a temporary order stopping the work until a dispute between the National Social Security Authority (NSSA) and the Glaudina housing stand owners is settled.
The land where the road is being built was given to a group called the Gillingham Pay Scheme, which had already planned for water pipes and other infrastructure. The stand owners are worried that the road construction will damage their property, including pegs and water pipes.
The issue started when Harare City Council approved both the Gillingham Pay Scheme stands and a plan from NSSA for the road construction. Now, the stand owners are upset because the road construction could interfere with their properties.

Despite the ongoing court case, NSSA began moving equipment to the site, intending to start building the road. In response, stand owners Mr. Biggie Mwoyoweshumba and Mr. Phillip Gardner asked the High Court for an urgent order to stop NSSA from continuing until the legal dispute is resolved.
Judge Neville Wamambo agreed with the stand owners, granting the temporary order. He said they have a strong case and might suffer permanent damage if construction continues. The judge noted that the city council had originally given the land to the stand owners and now approved a road plan that could destroy their property.
The legal case is still ongoing, but for now, NSSA has been ordered to stop construction until the court decides the matter.
