High Court Dismisses Suspended  Harare HR boss’ reinstatement application.

A bid by suspended Harare City  Human Resources boss, Dr Cainos Chingombe’s urgent  High Court application seeking reinstatement was thrown out recently.

The controversial Chingombe filed an urgent chamber application interdict  on the 11th of January which listed City of Harare as the first respondent,Town Clerk Engineer P Mabhena, second respondent and Mayor Jacob Mafume,third respondent.

He sought the High Court to push the City Fathers to follow through a labour case which he won of reinstatement at work last year in November.

“For beverity sake, on the 14 day of November 2022, Applicant resumed his employment and astonishingly the next day on 15th day of November 2022 was served with a letter that he must not report for duty.

” Thereafter, Applicant has been exhausting the domestic remedies believing Respondents will rectify the illegal conduct perpetrated to the him by it,” stated the court papers.

In dismissing the case , the High Court says Dr Chingombe’s application was not urgent as he has to follow through council resolutions and exhaust all internal remedies before seeking the ‘honourable court’.

It further said the ‘applicant’ has to set aside emotions and take time to approach the court with sober and clear submissions to avoid wasting considerable court time with a weak case.

Chingombe is not new to controversy. He stands accused of numerous abuse of office charges.There are also serious allegations of sexual misconduct.
