Issa Siyabu, known by aliases Issa Chakazama and Innocent Kajira, admitted guilt to a string of harrowing offenses including rape, armed robbery, and unlawful entry. Appearing before Harare regional magistrate Loice Mukunyadze, Siyabu’s confession encompassed 29 charges, sparing the court a detailed recounting.
Despite his plea, Magistrate Mukunyadze insisted on formally documenting each charge. Among his victims were notable figures like Ronald Ajara, Dr. Anesu Musvosvi, former mayor Ben Manyenyeni, and Simbarashe Makomichi of Better Brands.
One of his crimes unfolded on December 23, 2022, when Siyabu infiltrated Ronald Ajara’s Borrowdale residence while the family slept, making off with electronics and valuables totaling $5,000.

Another incident involved the theft of $2,000 worth of belongings from former mayor Manyenyeni’s home on January 4, accomplished through entry via a lounge window.
Siyabu’s audacious crimes extended to Mt. Pleasant, where he pilfered from Dr. Anesu Musvosvi’s home, absconding with items including cash, electronics, and personal effects. Additionally, he perpetrated a terrifying assault on a 42-year-old woman in the same area, breaking into her home in the dead of night. Threatening her with a knife, he subjected her to a traumatizing ordeal, including theft and sexual assault.
These chilling accounts underscore the reign of terror Siyabu inflicted on his victims, leaving a trail of fear and devastation in his wake.
