The trial of a serial rapist, who admitted to 29 counts of rape, unlawful entry, and armed robbery, took a sudden turn when he displayed signs of mental distress. Issa Siyabu Serial rapist sent for mental examination, also known as Issa Chakazama or Innocent Kajira, initially pleaded guilty to all charges before Harare regional magistrate Loice Mukunyadze.
However, during the pre-sentence hearing, Siyabu began screaming and shouting, prompting the State to request a mental evaluation by two doctors.
Siyabu’s targets included prominent businessmen and public figures such as Ronald Ajara, Dr. Anesu Musvosvi, Ben Manyenyeni, and Simbarashe Makomichi.

Despite Siyabu’s plea, Magistrate Mukunyadze insisted on reading the charges in full for the record. Siyabu is scheduled to appear in court again on February 29.
