Social media users have expressed doubts regarding the reported kidnapping of 20-year-old Dean Njikizana from Glenview. The young man was allegedly abducted on Friday, and the kidnappers are demanding a ransom of US$2,000 for his safe return.
The validity of the kidnapping has come into question, with many suggesting that Dean may have staged the incident to extract money from his family.
According to H-Metro, Dean Njikizana was taken after withdrawing $614 from his father, Douglas Njikizana, a 48-year-old carpenter from Southerton. When Dean did not return home that evening, his family became alarmed.
The next day, Dean’s mother, Faith Njikizana, 42, received a disturbing photo that showed her son’s hands and legs bound with rope and his mouth covered. Accompanying the image was a message stating, “mwana takachengeta parikuda mari amai,” indicating that they were holding her son until the ransom was paid.

In a follow-up text, the kidnappers demanded, “Kana muchida mwana wenyu pari kudiwa US$2000 irikudiwa kusvika na1pm,” meaning the family needed to pay the ransom by 1 PM, along with details on where to send the money.
The message further stated, “Mari yacho munoisa panumber ipapa yemwana wenyu nekuti chitupa chake tinacho,” implying that the kidnappers had Dean’s identification in their possession.
Despite the alarming nature of the situation, many social media users are questioning the legitimacy of the kidnapping. Some speculate that Dean Njikizana may have orchestrated this incident to extort money from his family.
Online discussions are focusing on the unusual circumstances surrounding the alleged abduction, with skepticism growing about its authenticity.
