Macheso back where he rules

ALICK Macheso is billed to hold a family show at Andy Millar Hall tomorrow, after a successful tour of the United Kingdom.

Macheso, who headlined the just-ended SAMA Music Festival along with Winky D in the UK, will be supported by Jean Masters and Sasha Amadhuve.

The show starts around 2pm, thanks to F&G Promotions.

Speaking to H-Metro, Macheso assured fans of a fun-filled family show.

“Yes, it’s going to be a wonderful experience for us as we return from the UK to meet our fans in Harare.

“We are definitely bringing new things onto the stage and we are looking forward to a great afternoon since it’s a family show,” said Macheso publicist Tich Makahamadze.

F&G spokesperson, Boss Jambaya, confirmed the family show.

“We are excited and honoured to host the king of sungura on his return show from the UK.

“Everything is in order and we are expecting to host the whole family through various activities, including entertainment for the kids,” he said.

Boss Jambaya, who is still new in music promotions, assured fans of monthly mega shows.

“This is going to be our monthly norm from now onwards and we hope to rope in different artists at the venue and various others across the country.

“We have created the platform to suit the whole family and make sure they are kept united,” he added.

The Police Band and several DJs, including DJ Squilla, will provide cover at the event.

ALICK Macheso and Winky D storms this year’s edition of the UK SAMA Festival, which starts tomorrow.

Y2K Promotions and Diaspora Insurance are behind the annual festival aimed at promoting Zimbabwean culture through music.

The first leg takes place tomorrow at Leicester Athena Auditorium and the last event is set for the O2 Arena, London, this Saturday.

Selmor Mtukudzi, Baba Harare, Jah Signal, Mambo Dhuterere and Nox are also part of the line-up.
