According to the National Prosecuting Authority, Mpofu and Chimombe submitted a bid document with forged ZIMRA and NSSA certificates, misleading the Ministry of Lands into awarding them the contract.
Investigations revealed that the company, Blackdeck Private Limited, was deregistered from NSSA in 2016 and did not have a valid tax clearance certificate for 2021.

The Ministry transferred ZWL 1.6 billion (equivalent to USD 7,712,197) into the accused’s bank account, but they only supplied 4,208 goats, far short of the promised 32,500.
The accused appeared before the Harare Magistrates Court and were remanded in custody until the next day for a bail hearing.
The case has sparked outrage, with many calling for swift justice and accountability.
