Miss Supranational Zimbabwe Yollanda Chimbarami awarded scholarships to 40 deserving children in Mashonaland Central on Saturday 06 July 2024 in a remarkable display of kindness and dedication to education.
The event held at Bindura Primary School saw the beauty queen and international actress personally present the scholarships to the overjoyed recipients. The scholarships will cover tuition fees, and she also donated books and other educational stationary.
The event was attended by the Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution for Mashonaland Central Captain (RTD), Christopher Magomo, and officials from his ministry.
He appreciated the good deeds that were done by Yollanda in remembering other underprivileged students from his province. He also applauded Yollanda’s mother for raising a child who has a good heart for helping others.
Miss Supranational expressed her passion for empowering young minds and bridging the gap in access to quality education. “Education is the key to unlocking potential, and every child deserves a chance to shine,” she said.

The beneficiaries, ranging from different schools in the province, were selected based on their academic merit and financial need. Their beaming faces and heartfelt gratitude filled the room as they received their scholarships.
This generous gesture by Miss Supranational has alleviated a significant burden for the children’s families and has instilled hope and motivation in the young scholars.
The event serves as a testament to the power of kindness and the impact one person can have on the lives of many.
Yollanda, together with Help A Child Save A Nation (HACSAN), has a target of reaching one million students as beneficiaries of the scholarships.The program was launched in Mashonaland Central, where the supranational model hails but have a target of expanding it to other parts of the country.

The organization was formed in 2014 and was underfunded, but she along with her friends started visiting schools interacting with colleagues and helping them to clean their premises. The organisation became fully functional in 2020 after the COVID-19 pandemic, when most students dropped out of school and some transited to online learning, that is when they started assisting students.
After the successful donations in Bindura, Yollanda and her team left for Shamva to visit an organisation called Lancos’ Drug Abuse Reintegration Facility where she is a brand ambassador.
Lancos’ Drug Abuse Reintegration Facility is an organization which primarily focuses on the rehabilitation of drug and substance abusers and re-integrating the survivors back into society
The visit to Shamva was a fitting conclusion to Yollanda’s day as she had impacted people’s lives in a positive way.
