Miss Universe event, held yesterday, had all the ingredients of a superb show but failed to deliver due to poor communication, technical issues, and lack of show production expertise.
The venue was beautifully decorated, and the ambiance was on point, but the audience was left confused and frustrated due to poor communication and technical glitches. The show started late, and the audience was left waiting for 30 minutes due to technical issues with the special projects videos.

The MCs, Ruvheneko and Misred, struggled to keep the show flowing, with Ruvheneko dominating the stage and overshadowing Misred. The show lacked a producer to make instant decisions and keep the show on track.
The event also lacked protocol, with the former First Lady of Zimbabwe, Dr. Grace Mugabe, and Mrs. Chiwenga not receiving the grand entrance they deserved. The announcement of the board members was also lukewarm, and the sponsors were not adequately acknowledged.
The show was marred by technical issues, with the visuals team struggling to keep up with the program. The national anthem was played without the national flag visual on the screens, and the special projects videos were plagued by technical issues.
The event could have been done in 3 hours without unnecessary breaks, and the production team could have learned from the Miss SA production team on how to handle front of house and behind the scenes.
Overall, the event was a disappointment, and with proper production and attention to detail, it could have been a superb show that showcased the best of Zimbabwe.
