A Zimbabwean court has sentenced Wellington Gwashure to 20 years in prison for the brutal murder of his wife, Eustina Mutiwekuziva.
The incident occurred in October 2022, after Mutiwekuziva confronted Gwashure about his infidelity, leading to a violent confrontation that ended in her death.
Gwashure’s history of intimidation and abuse was a significant factor in the trial, with witnesses testifying to his long-standing pattern of abuse towards his wife. Despite his attempts to claim provocation, the court found him guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
