“I’m going to make the best of myself, and yeah girls, please do come. I know my music is more appealing to the fairer sex. I also urge the men, don’t be left out, my music makes your girls feel very special and loved,” said Trevor Dongo, who is the only R&B artist performing at the Lake July DJ Festival 2017.

Dongo will share the stage with Zim dancehall chanters Boom Beto and Kinna in what promises to be a thriller on the shores of Lake Chivero.

The three-day event will take place at Hunyani Hills courtesy of Ecrag Group of companies in partnership with Star FM. Speaking to Showbiz, Dongo said he was honoured and humbled to be part of the five-star entertainment event, which takes place from the 28th to the 30th of this month.

“I feel honoured to be one of the top artists performing at the 2017 Lake July DJ Festival. I thank God as well as event organisers for such an opportunity where I have been given space to reveal my art in front of such a large crowd,” said Dongo.

He added: “It’s very interesting that we are sharing the stage with the likes of Kinna, Boom Betto etcetera, I personally don’t draw a line – we are family. I am very flexible; I can do a collaboration with a dancehall artiste. We fall under the same umbrella.”

Kinna, popularly known as Mr Mbare, has also promised to give a special performance dedicated to the ghetto youths worldwide. Speaking through his manager, Wadis, Kinna promised fireworks, saying he would sample new songs of his forthcoming album.

“We promise an exceptional performance at Lake July. Our whole camp is excited.”

Other artists set to perform at this year’s Lake July DJ festival include Boom Betto, Tammy, Jah Signal, Blot, Celsius etc.
